It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the James Gillespie’s High School website. We are situated in the centre of Edinburgh and have been a fully comprehensive, non-denominational high school since 1973. We deliver courses at every level up to Advanced Higher and pride ourselves in supporting all learners to achieve at the highest level possible. We believe in providing an excellent and innovative education for our young people which best prepares them for their destination of choice post school. In addition, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to learners.
Our school is a very diverse community and we look to celebrate this diversity at every opportunity. We are strongly committed to Anti Racism practice and we are continually working with the school community to develop our practice. We strive to offer all our students the best experiences to achieve and to access an appropriate curriculum that allows them to access their destination of choice beyond school. Regardless of background, everyone should be afforded the best opportunity to succeed.
